Landscaping Services in Amesbury
We design and build planting beds, then keep them looking right. Most of the work is bed layout, plant selection, mulch, edging, and the grading that stops water sitting where it shouldn’t.
Soil around here isn’t consistent. Yards along the Merrimack sit on heavy clay that holds water for days. Closer to Salisbury it turns sandy and dries out by July. Same plant, two streets apart, two different outcomes. So we dig before we design.
Where we work
The ground and the rules change town to town. Each of these has its own page explaining what is different there.

About Our Landscaping Work in Amesbury
How We Work
What a bed install includes
We mark the bed on the ground first so you can see the shape before we cut anything. Edge gets cut, soil gets amended where it needs it, plants go in and get watered, then about three inches of mulch pulled back off the stems. We don't pile mulch against trunks. It traps moisture against the bark and kills the plant you paid for. We get called to fix that more than anything else.
Timing
Spring and fall both work for planting. Fall is the one people skip. Soil is still warm, the air isn't, and roots get established over winter instead of fighting through July. We plant into early November most years, until the ground starts to freeze. Design work we'll do any time.
Same crew, start to finish
The people who walk your property are the people who plant it. Nothing goes to a sub. If something's wrong you're talking to the person who did it. Ask for Charles, he does the walkthroughs.
How we space plants
Right plant, right spot, enough room for what it turns into. Most overgrown foundation beds started as a decent design planted too tight. We space for year five, which means year one looks a little sparse. We tell people that up front so it isn't a surprise in June.
Cleanup
Beds raked out, edges swept, driveway and walks blown off. Debris leaves with us the same day. We don't leave a pile for next week.
Weather
Heavy rain stops planting. Working saturated soil compacts it and wrecks the structure roots need, so a bed installed in the mud underperforms for years. If we push a day, that's why. You'll hear it from us rather than find out.
How It Works
Quote to finished beds in four steps.
Step 1 – Request a Quote
Send the form or call. We'll ask what's bugging you about the yard and set a time to come look.
Step 2 – Upfront Price
We walk the property, talk through options, and put a real number in writing. It doesn't move later.
Step 3 – Service Day
We show up when we said we would. Beds get built, plants go in, site gets cleaned before we leave.
Step 4 – Follow-Up
We check back after the first season to see what took and what needs attention.

Landscaping FAQs
How much does landscaping cost in Amesbury?
Depends on the size of the bed and what goes in it. A front bed refresh with new plants and mulch is a different job from regrading a back yard. We give you a written number after we walk it, and it doesn't change.
When's the best time to plant?
Spring and fall both work. Fall is better than most people think. Soil is still warm, air is cooler, and roots establish over winter. We plant into early November most years.
How long does a project take?
A bed refresh is usually a day. A full front and back redesign with grading runs several days to a couple of weeks. We give you a window before we start.
Do you design and install, or just install?
Both, same crew. If you already have a plan we'll work from it.
Will you maintain it afterward?
Yes. Most clients add mowing and spring and fall cleanups so the beds keep looking the way they did the day we finished.
What areas do you serve?
Amesbury, Newburyport, Salisbury, Merrimac, West Newbury, Newbury, and Haverhill, plus Seabrook, Kensington, and South Hampton in New Hampshire. Not sure if you're in range? Call (413) 222-0808.
Do you do patios and walls too?
We do. Walkways, patios, and retaining walls. It's usually better to do the stonework and the planting together so the whole thing gets designed once instead of twice.
What payment methods do you take?
Most clients keep a card on file. We also take ACH and check. Invoices go out after the work is done.
